How to choose your bra?

Know your size

For what ?
This may come as a surprise, but many women don't know their bra size. You won't feel comfortable in a bra that doesn't fit your measurements.

Your underwear is not suitable if:
- your bra band is gaping.
- your chest is overflowing from your bra.
- the straps or band of your bra dig into your flesh.
- your bra feels tight and makes it difficult to breathe.
- your bra straps fall down even though you are adjusting them correctly.

To feel comfortable in your lingerie, you need to take the time to calculate your size. Your breasts change throughout your life, when you become a mother or when you start a diet, for example, so check your measurements regularly to be sure you're wearing the most appropriate bra.

How ?
Grab a soft, seamstress's tape measure. Ideally, you should be naked, but you can also wear a bra that doesn't alter the natural size of your bust. Remember: round up your measurements, and if you're between sizes, always choose the larger one. Nothing is more uncomfortable than a bra that's too small or too tight.
To determine your bra size, you must take two measurements, standing straight with your feet together, and ensuring that the tape measure is horizontal and parallel to the floor, neither too loose nor too tight so as not to distort the measurements.

1. Measure your underbust circumference.

Stand up straight and place the tape measure under your breasts and wrap it around your bust. Keep the tape measure flat and parallel to the floor. Refer to the table below and find your size.

2. Measure your chest circumference.

Place the tape measure horizontally across your breasts and wrap it around your bust, passing through your armpits and shoulder blades to measure the fullest part of your chest. Keep the tape measure flat and parallel to the floor.
Once you've measured, refer to the chart below to find your full bra size (with the letter corresponding to your cup size).

Practical example:
1. My underbust measurement is 70 cm. I look at the first table and see that my size to order is 85.
2. In the second table, I place myself in column 85. To find my cup size, I take my chest measurement. It measures 87 cm.
3. So my bra size is: 85C.

How to position your bra correctly in 3 steps

1. Place your arms through the armholes and clasp your bra. The vast majority of bras have multi-position clasps at the back, allowing you to adjust the bra to make it tighter or looser. We recommend using the loosest clasp first, as the bra will stretch during use, giving you room to tighten it later.
Here's a little tip if you're having trouble hooking your bra in the back: turn your bra upside down, hook it, and wrap it around your chest to get it back in position. Finally, put your arms through the openings. Of course, you won't have this problem with bras with hooks located on the sides or at the front of the bra.

2. Adjust the straps so they are the right size, neither too loose nor too tight, so that you feel perfectly supported. If the straps are too loose, they will not stay in place on your shoulders and your chest will not be properly supported. If they are too tight, the cups will ride up unnaturally and you will feel cramped. Make sure the straps and the back band are not twisted. Let the back band ride up on your back. If this band is higher than the underwire, it means the bra is not suitable for your chest.

3. Test your bra to ensure it fits properly. After putting it on and adjusting your straps, pull on the straps and bra band, as well as the sides, to check that it fits properly. Make sure your breasts fill the cups. Lean forward to help position your breasts in the bra cups. Ideally, the underwire of your bra should sit just under your breasts, leaving no room for your breasts to spill out. You may notice, once your breasts are properly positioned in their cups, a rounded area sticking out of your bra above the cups. Smooth your breasts with your fingers, lowering it until they fit snugly in your bra.

How ?
Take a soft tape measure, stand up straight with your feet together and remember: round up your measurements and if you are between two sizes, always choose the larger one.
To determine your stocking size, you must take two measurements, making sure that you stand straight with your feet together, and that the tape measure is horizontal and parallel to the floor, neither too loose nor too tight so as not to distort the measurements.

1. Measure your waistline by placing the tape measure horizontally at the smallest point of your abdomen, above your navel.
2. Measure your hip circumference (or pelvic circumference) , by placing the tape measure horizontally at the widest point of your pelvis at the level of your hips.
Then refer to the table below to find your size to order.

Practical example:
1. I take my waist measurement. It measures 64 cm.
2. I measure my hips. It measures 98 cm.
3. So I choose a size 2 bottom.

How to choose your tights?

A good pair of tights will be easy to forget about throughout your day. When choosing your tights, remember this key word: comfort! Your tights shouldn't compress your stomach, show unsightly creases, or constantly fall down. Don't worry if this is the case; we'll guide you in choosing your tights! First of all, take the time to find your size.

How ?
Finding your tights size is child's play! All you need is your height and weight. Using these two pieces of information, you can determine your tights size using the charts below. If you're unsure between two sizes, be sure to choose the larger of the two, as your tights should feel comfortable.

Practical example:
1. I am 1 meter 60 cm tall and weigh 55 kilos.
2. My tights size is therefore: T2.

How to take your measurements to choose the perfect Aubade set?

To always be sure of choosing the right size of Aubade bra, we recommend that you take your measurements regularly, especially after a weight change or pregnancy.

1) Chest size

Chest size is measured at the tip of the breasts.

2) Bust measurement

The bust measurement is taken below the chest.

3) Pelvic circumference

Hip circumference is measured at the widest point.

To find your bra size, you must first measure your bust. For example, if you measure 75 cm and you look at the table below, the French size corresponds to 85 or 70 for the European size (because 75 is between 73 and 77 in the table).

Now that you know your bust size, you need to measure your chest. Once you've done this, simply take the bra size you previously found and see where your chest measurement falls.

For example, if we take the previous example, the bust measurement corresponded to a 90. So I look in the "90" column. If my bust measurement measures 94cm, then my bra size is a 90D.
